Vidwan Kanchana A Ishwara Bhat is an erudite musician and a scholar in the category of Carnatic classical music. He has been acknowledged as a great mridangist and is well known in the Southern part of Karnataka. He has learnt carnatic music and mridangam under the tutelage of Vidwan Kanchana V Subbaratnam and Vidwan P. G. Lakshminarayana respectively. He is honored as an ‘A-grade’ mridangam artiste of All India Radio and Doordarshan Mysore. He has performed with such renowned artists as: Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna, T V Shankarnarayanan, O S Thyagarajan, Lalgudi G J R Krishnan, T M Krishna, Sanjay Subrahmanyam, P Unnikrishnan and many more.

He advocates his students of the importance of reverence to elders and Guru Bhakthi, the ideals he himself has followed in his life.
